Personal summary

I read a famous American writer Ernest Hemingway's novel "the old man and the sea", very admire the old  of the novel, he let me know how a man must have perseverance, then can succeed. The man is a novel depicts a near the old fisherman, in a single out to sea fishing, caught a big fish, but pull not up. The old fisherman al with fish after a few days, found that this is a more than his several times as big marlin fishing boats, although knowing is hard to win, but still don't give up. Later and because the big marlin wound fish smell drew a few group of sharks rob food, but the old man still would not so give up, eventually beckoning, the big fish back to the fishing port, let the other fishermen to admire.

English slang and idioms

English slang and idioms  are the important part of the Daily English .  Now we have two ways  to increase our knowledge  of English slang and  idioms .  The first step is watch the American TV programs .  Such as  the 《The Broken Girls》，《The Big Bang  Theory》 and so on .  You  can choose your interest TV programs. Watching them carefully  ,then you get a better feeling about  English and learn more English slang and idioms .   The  next way is chatting more with American people  .  Because  American people speak perfect English. They are used to speaking by slang and idioms  .  If you can  practice your English with  American people  , you can learn better  .    You can also know a lot of  English idioms and slang .  It is the most effective way for us  to improve our knowledge  of  English .   As far as I am concerned  that you must be brave to speak with others . It is  key to improve  our English .  Then you should speak more . More speaking can help you to learn fast .

A weather event

Fourteen twenty-eight on May 12, 2008 04 seconds ,   A big earthquake happened in Wen Chuan and Bei Chuan which was  8 magnitudes. It was a devastating  damage that  69227 people were killed , 374643 people were injured and 17923 people were missing.   After the earthquake  in sichuan ， people from the word tried their best to helping  victims.  our compatriots in the motherland comprised a lot of rescue  teams and volunteer groups at once . And the government gathered substantial  medical supplies to disaster area. In the relief process, it emerged a large number of touching stories . For example ,one  mother saved her child by her body , a primary school student  rescued 10 classmates bravely and so on .   Given this history ,we showed the meaning about  a side to help comes from all quarters and unity is strength.

Personal Summary

                                   Do not sit on your talent

It is a report  says how did   Nat King Cole become one of the best -known singers in the US.   At first , he just was a piano player in a  bar.   But one day ,  a lady asked him to sing a song .   In order to get paid ,he had to sing in public .  That was  the first time   he  sang in public before . Nobody had ever heard the song Mona Lisa sung so beautifully!    He found his talent about singing .      Besides  he went on working and finally succeed .

This story tells us  that  everyone has own  talents  ,  but you have to pay a lot  before you  find  your skills and abilities.  You should insist on it and face amounts of  difficulties  though  you may not be succeed.

A dream I had

10 days ago, I had a dream about I played basketball in the NBA,   I was  a player in Miami Heat.   And a lot of famous basketball players appeared in my dream  such as LeBron  James, D-Wade,bosh and so on .  We practiced every time if we are free. So we  had a good season that we got the best  military exploits . But everything was not ok in the playoffs  .  Each team wanted to win the championship  so they  did their best to compete each game.   We faced the huge challenges . Some of games , we almost  defeated. Finally  team won by  cooperation. So I think  a team is very important  , we should  cooperate  with  each to win the game .  What is more ,we should  practice ourselves  ,so we can  provide the best help for team ,for partners . I  did not wake up in my dream .  Maybe  it is a good prediction for Miami Heat that they will win the final championship again.

Now I live in Sarawak which is the oldest rainforest  in the world . It is 10 million years old ,and it

 has 2,500 different kinds of trees.  The weather in Sarawak is hot all year  . In the  evening  ,I like to 

live in the  trees.   Meanwhile  I prefer to live in  a cave when it rains . At summer I use  leaves  made 

clothes. At winner , I use skins made clothes.  When the beasts are near me ,I use fire to drive  them. My best friends are Forest Elephants . At the free time , I always play  water with them.   They are also the transportation for me . The forest elephants look very different from savanna elephants. For
 one thing, they are smaller and stockier than savanna elephants. Forest elephant males only get to be 

about 8 feet in height while large savanna elephants can reach 13 feet. Their ears are rounded and 

their tusks are straight and thin with a pinkish tinge to  the  ivory.

 In the  rainforest, home is not important .I can live in everywhere  .  When I feel hungry , I can take  

some fruits to eat. There are also a lot of fresh water to drink. If I live without rainforest, maybe  everything  for me is worry.

 Today I read  a  sports news  about  a basketball  game  that  Oklahoma  Thunder  vs  Miami Heat .
 LeBron  James  and  Kevin Durant are the two best basketball players  in the word .  The  game happened on Wednesday night in  Miami.   It's  an  amazing game .  Finally , Durant  led  the thunder to win the  game.    He finished with a team-high 33 points — his 12th straight 30-plus-point performance, bringing him within two games of matching Tracy McGrady's 14-game streak during the 2002-03 season.

   Hey , everyone . I am a  survivor who left the island in the spring of 1742.  We left St. Petersburg with almost 600 people.  We spent 7 years to cross Siberia. First we stayed at Tobolsk for one year. We built a ship and explored the Lena  River. Then  we continued  to Yakutsk,where we spent 4 years. At last ,we spent two more years to build ships so we can explore and map the east coast.  There are a lot of storms during the expedition , so we lost many  food . And  after a heavy storm, we lost contact with Chirikov's  ship. But we are lucky enough, our sailors saw  mountains a short distance   across the sea.  This proved that North America and Asia were two separate continents.  After soon, we ate   water with a little salty. Then , many of my friends were from scurvy ,a disease caused by the lack of vitamin C.  What's more , our ship  became lost in storms.Finally the ship stranded in a small island.  There are birds and animals for food,and fresh water to drink.But ,it's too late ,my friends continued  to die from scurvy. On December 8 ,1741, our leader Bering also died . It's  so  terrible .

Introduction

My Chinese name is xunkai wang, and you can call me calvin. I am from china . In my family , only my parents and me. In my free time , I like playing sports game such as basketball,pooling . That is my first time to come to the USA ,and I have been at ASU for about 10 days .  Industry design  in ASU is the top place , that is why I chose the ASU. After I graduate  from ASU, I plan to go back to china and help my parents. My major is industry design . And I can draw a person during 3 hours.
